We'd love for you to give Habari a try. Right now the most difficult thing (in my opinion) is grabbing the plugins and themes to make Habari exactly what you want because we haven't (yet) gotten our plugin and themes repositories to be as user-friendly as we'd like them.

There's tons of support out there though. If you use twitter, just mention Habari in a tweet. Also the IRC channel on freenode (#habari) is very active. If you try it and find things we can improve, we'd love to know about it.

I moved my WP blog to Habari in February. The installation is as simple as WP. Set up mySQL DB, enter credentials. Done.

Habari also has a pretty robust and fast WordPress importer. I imported 700 posts and 1000 comments in < 2 mins.

Also, Habari has a very helpful and knowledgable community only to willing and eager to welcome and help out any newcomers.

So what's stopping you ? :-)

Installing Habari is actually easier than WordPress as there is no need to edit the config files.

I think Habari is great and I recommend it in general, but I think you need to do you research and try it out on a local installation before moving your whole blog.

WordPress handles a lot of things that Habari doesn't do. There are various reasons for this such as the different philosophies, but depending on your knowledge and experience you might feel restrained by it.

I believe that walk score is cool, but nowadays more and more people prefer to drive cars. Homes are often located in an area where some establishments are easier to get to by car than on foot. I've recently found a type of service on http://drivescore.fizber.com which is called Drive Score. It shows a map of what establishments are in your neighborhood and calculates a Drive Score based on the number of places within a convenient driving distance. It doesn’t mean that drive score is better than walk score – they are equal and both necessary in the modern world!
